work ends for me next Thursday when my contract ends.

after spending like.. i dunno, 5 months? in GTS. oh man.

GTS is the IT department of PwC.

PwC is pricewaterhousecoopers, an auditing firm.

which is, of course, my workplace.

i entered in 11feb. so.. i would have worked for almost 6months. i made alot of frens there.

first friend i made (or rather they made me their fren =/) was angeline koh! haha during the orientation i sat beside her, and i was the only sucker without a laptop (i mean, i'm into the IT dept so they wont bother to prepare; they can do it last minute), so she shared hers with mine!

then after the lunch break i went to eat (READ: ALONE) and after that i went back, angeline and her frens came and talk to me. actually, only 3 of them. angeline, jimmy and sheena. wa they're damn friendly people man! from NYP.

they actually wanna ask me along for lunch, cuz i'm like the only loner there (there was another batch of students from SP, and some temp staffs who went to eat with their frens outside) and well... they didn't dare to ask. cuz i was on the phone with miniwong after the orientation ends LMAO!

so, well. we still chat with one another online via the company's IM system, but after they left in april i realised i have no one to chat to -___- other than jessie.

AHH. speaking of jessie. oh man, you should be proud i'm posting about you here! HAHAHAHA. second fren (okay, maybe the 4th fren, since the 1st 3 frens i made were angeline jimmy and sheena) i made! still remember the first "shit job" i tio was do the unpack-the-USB-mouse thing. they threw both of us into the bloody storeroom and we had to dismantle all that shit!

i'm gonna have to admit something very loserish+thick-skinned here. as i was the only guy working (EK Kelvin they all started work MUCH later) hence there was no one i could lunch with. i wasn't very close to my other colleagues yet (its only the 3rd day, and i can't even remember anyone's name!!!)

yes it was very pathetic.

i spent the 1st 2 days eating alone and wandering around the area, walking and looking around.

on the 3rd day i couldn't take it eating alone.

went up to her.

"hey.. erm do you lunch alone here or something?"

"ahh no i meet my fren for lunch. she works nearby, in DBS building there."

"i see.. erm... (i actually remembered i kinda swallowed my saliva before i continued -,-) well.. do you mind if i join you guys for lunch? i mean, well if your fren don't mind and stuffs.. if not its okay.."

"oh, okay no problem. she's okay with it."

"ahh really? okay cool, thanks alot man!"

after that i dunno why, but i felt i should slap myself for being so thick-skinned as to "force" myself into their lunch meeting HAHAHA.

so after a few months, think a couple of weeks ago, i mentioned this to jessie, and so i asked her if she thought i was thick-skinned, she immediately said YEAH, THICK SKINNED LA!

so for the first 2,3 months we had to do all the shit jobs. cuz we're temps.

then zoey left for maternity leave... jessie had to take over the telephone IT helpdesk...

and i'm left alone to do all the shit jobs -_-

from anything like packing the store.. to taking out the trash from the store.. to folding cardboard boxes, dismantling laptops, switching the LCD panels of laptops...

i think i've learnt enough to work in IBM's tech support LOL. okay kidding.

actually i think i've learn quite a number of stuffs. but mostly is PwC's software all that, but still its an experience. and of course, i had to teach jessie cuz she's such a tech noob =p haha! oh wells but she's quite smart, SURPRISINGLY =D

and the other colleagues.. quek, tcm, leong, benson, jason, alvin, janice. all the tech support people. quek esp!!

damn funny la quek. everytime got pretty girls come in, he'll be like looking at me, and using his eyes, point to the girl. then after she left, he'll come over and say stuffs like BUAY PAI AH? (not bad in hokkien) HAHAHAHA oh man.

quek and TCM. these 2 are the funniest and jokers in my dept. they're damn good at talking crap! TCM should join mediacorp. he can mimick very well!

OH did i mention, dirty jokes and talks are their forte. HAHAAHAHHAAHAHAH. oh man i just can't stop laughing when they start some shit.

and there's vincent and benjamin! the 2 young fellas of GTS. also very good to talk cock with. heh. aiya, whenever got all these guys around... it'll be DAMN FUN. lol.

for the ladies.. don't really mix with them much, cuz nothing much to talk crap about. hahaha. except for jessie. generation gap with the aunties? LMAO. OOPS. there's zoey and emily, who're forever poking and making fun at jessie. hahahahaa!

the rest, i'm not very close with them cuz mainly they're either managers, or com programmers. so don't really get to talk much with them.


ahhh. 4 more days in that office. of course, will miss that place. after all i spent 5 months in there! and not getting paid for the month of august...

well have to do some planning for august. lest i become broke. =/

anyway jessie went on a holiday last wed-fri, so for these 3 days, we're short of manpower. in fact, we're already short of manpower as 2 of my colleagues are on leave. one hospitalised (zoey), the other on maternity leave (jancie).

then on thursday auntie emily went on leave also. LOL. busy like..... woo!

good too, keeps us occupied.

jessie's gonna take a full week off next week too, as she's going for wisdom tooth extraction on monday, hence the long break.

OH MAN. 8 days without her. no one to talk crap to, make fun of, do notebook upgrades. oh yeah, i've yet to teach her laptop upgrades as she needs to take over my job after i leave. =/

LOL. man. told us some stories. i must say, life inside the police academy isn't that bad too. though there're no jungles for them to train in. unlike us, have to tolerate all the funny jungle stuffs. i.e mud, soil, grass, mosquitos, funny bugs and insects, scary centipedes, snakes blah blah.

i got stuck in the lift after work today.

today's 9th July. i'm left with about 3 weeks of work, or 15 more days to be exact. after that, my contract ends, and i'm a free man. again. at least till 13th sept, which i'll turn into SAF's property =(

jessie's gonna be on long leave from the 16th till 25th. she's going for a holiday, and then a dentist trip cuz she wants to pluck her wisdom tooth out. hence the long break, if not she'll come to work with a swollen cheek! hahahahahaha.

so i guess for those days the horrifying store-keeper NCM The Terrible would be breathing down on my neck, asking me to help her run errands.

not that, you know, that i don't like to help people.

but the stuffs she asked me to do... stupid and meaningless sai gang. sai gang = shit jobs in hokkien.

so.. the top 3 priorties...

1) EAT MORE.

time to hit the gym at least 2,3 times a week. buff up. train my stamina, though i doubt 1month of jogging would bring drastic improvements to my stamina.

3) LEARN SWIMMING.

okay, not really learn swimming. i'm just really really REALLY poor in swimming. i know the strokes and stuffs, but i guess it'll take me a whole load of practice before i can actually manage 50m. currently my personal record stands at 10m =(

i'm tired of working man. sucks to wake up at 6 45am every mon-fri, and coming home at around 7pm. somemore, i stood all the way to work, and same thing happens when i go home. squashed with the peak hour crowd. ZZZZ.

mentally tiring. wish i had a car though. drive home. hahhahha yeah right.

work here has been pretty good. except for NCM The Terrible. everyone here is fun to work with. and fun too! esp when they crack dirty jokes HHAHAHAHA well its mostly guys here.

yesterday's paintball session was simply smashing! HAHAHAH oh man the thrill of dodging the paintball bullets.

salty organised it for my birthday. well, kinda like my birthday celebration and gathering rolled into one. haha.

my sister also came with us, as she wanted to play paintball.

in the end, the people who came:

me, mini, ek, salty, kelvin, benji, bingting, er-er (bingting's gf), yufan, TYY and my sister!

hence it was 5 vs 6. as there were 11 ppl.

we were supposed to reach there at 9pm. so me and my sis, we were coming from my grandma's house, and we thought we were late so we took a cab from serangoon to yishun.

turns out we were the earliest -__- i even had time to take a dump and change into sloppy clothes and slack around for a good 15mins.

kelvin alighted at Yishun but kinda walked the wrong way.

EK fetched benji and yufan, met the rest of the guys at Yishun MRT, and decided to take a piss there.

and bingting and his gf reached at around 9 15?

BUT nevertheless once we were briefed on the safety issues and how to operate the guns.

WE WERE ALL EXCITED AND GOOD TO GO!

so, on one side... the team consists of kelvin, salty, bingting, er-er, benji and yufan! the 6-man team.

and on the other side.. the team consists of me, mini, ek, TYY and my sister carrine!

and the first round goes......

we're issued with face masks (makes everyone looks like Darth Vader o_O) and a foam vest for chest protection. looks like those bulletproof Kelvar vests!)

and our weapon of choice- nitrogen-powered paintball semi-automatic gun.

i would have opted for something with a mounted scope so i can enjoy picking my targets off but of course they don't have any shit like that.

so, with our protection gear all set up,

note: as i was typing halfway, my colleagues announced that Janice (my colleague who's on maternity leave) has just given birth to a healthy baby boy! congrats! though she's not going to see this -_-

anyway, as i was saying, with our protection gear all set up, we picked up our guns...

walked to our home base...

so sorry, i forgot to explain the game rules and stuffs. hehehehehehe. come on, i slept for only 5-6hours last night!

there're 2 teams (obviously) and each takes one extreme end of the battlefield as their base. The field is divided into 2 parts. Teams cannot cross over the mid-line over to their enemies side of the field. At the mid-line of the field, there're 2 boxes. One has to grab the box, without getting shot, and run back with it to the base.

If you're shot, you are to raise your hand up and run back to the safety hut, which is near your base. Once you touch it, you are allow to join the battlefield again. Hence, there's no elimination or whatsoever. everyone gets a chance to play.

Before grabbing the box, however, the team has to pick off 2 orange targets mounted at their enemy's side of the field. Then, they are allowed to go for the box.

so i just ran forward -_- i looked back and saw i was the only one sprinting for cover while the rest of them ran elsewhere LMAO.

took a short break. next round, we did the same thing. but now we know roughly the accuracy of the gun..

paintball is really fun. although you might get injured from the shots. well at most you got is blue-blacks and stuffs..

mini bought me this remote control car -,- basically you have to fix it up, like those Tamiya model cars, after that, plug in the batteries and you're good to go!

okay, so let's see.. last weekend i was away in tioman island for a nice getaway trip with mini kelvin ek and benji!

this time i went to paya village. the previous time i was at salang village.

truth be told, paya village is kinda disappointing. there wasn't many things to do there, nothing much to see, and few places to eat.

not to mention our choice of lodging sucks.

haha but WELL its good. for the first few hours or so, the guys kept complaining, but as time gets by they're kinda accepting the "kampong" lifestyle.

the beach was good. in fact we canoed for a good 5-10 mins to another part of the island, where the water is really really damn clear.

i even thought it was distilled water! so clear i could see the stones and some small fishes swimming around my feet..

of course the sun was blazing down on us. we got sunburnt at the end of the 3rd day -_-

and who could ever forget about booze? drank to our hearts content everynight.

and EK got really lucky... some girl tried to hook him up LMAO!! NOW WHO'S YOUR DADDY.

overall i had a really great time at tioman, but it'll be better if we explored other places more.
