check out the filling OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

my grandma just came over with popiah!

omg you know its like after weeks of being in camp its orgasmic to taste home-made popiah again. unlike those sold outside, the one my grandma made is MUCH MORE NICER. plus, i get to add extra ingredients =D

History of popiah:

The popiah is of southeastern Chinese origins, originating in the Fujian province. It is derived from the spring roll which was eaten during spring when there was an abundance of vegetables. The Chinese diaspora has spawned variants of the roll throughout Asia, intermingling ingredients from the local culture resulting in such likes as the Nonya version of the popiah.

i think the one i ate is the nonya version. i think.
sometimes, i still can't get really used to SISPEC man.

okay, the most screwed up thing about my company, Juilet, is of course, the funny name. i mean, you're supposed to sound maybe fierce in the army.. so when people ask for your company and they go..

ECHO COMPANY!

ALPHA COMPANY!

juilet company........................... -_-

yes, SISPEC is definitely different from life as a recruit in BMTC. most significant difference is that we can book-in and out in our civilian clothing and bags. so there's no need to wear our no.4 uniform, polish our boots nicely and carry that bulky field pack.

they're not treating us like recruits anymore, not fucking us upside down, treating us like dogs and barking at us constantly like in BMTC. in fact now most of us have appointments that require some degree (usually not very big la) of responsibility.

and of course, like in a real army, every section has its own "specialist", for example a SAW gunner, a M203 gunner.

yup. i was appointed the M203 gunner. -_- shucks. beats being the SAW gunner though heh heh... that gotta suck.

so this morning.. a very interesting scenario unfolded.

we woke up, washed up, and prepared to go down fall in when my sergeant yelled for everyone to fall in.

Sgt: OI JUILET COMPANY! NOW WHAT TIME ALREADY! FALL IN NOW!

*everyone scuttles around, rushes downstairs, those already downstairs were yelling for the rest to come down.

*everyone falls in now.

OKAY, LOOK AT THE TIME NOW. ITS 05 50. FALL IN SHOULD BE 05 45. LATE 5MINS RIGHT? NEVER MIND, I SHALL PUNISH THE ICs FIRST. WHOLE LOT KNOCK IT DOWN!

*the ICs (i.e the trainees that are appointed as the ICs) go into pumping position, us too.

DOWN! DOWN! DOWN!

*the ICs did 5 pumpings.

OKAY EVERYONE, DOWN! DOWN! DOWN!

*the rest of us did another 5.

WHOLE LOT RECOVER! FASTER, FALL IN INTO YOUR PLATOON LEVEL AND WE CAN START THE DAY!

all the while my sgt was like talking in a normal manner and not really screaming at us. damn LOL la, if this was in BMTC i think it'll be like this....

a typical morning in Jaguar...

OI JAGUAR COMPANY! WHAT TIME ALREADY! BETTER GET DOWN THIS INSTANCE! I GIVE YOU ALL 1, NO, 45 SECONDS TO COME DOWN NOW! *mutters cheebye*

*everyone dashes down immediately. those who were already downstairs were in pumping positions. everyone gets into pumping positions.

OKAY JAGUAR. YOU GUYS THINK YOU BIG FUCK ALREADY RIGHT? 3 MORE WEEKS TO POP BIG FUCK AH? CAN FALL IN LATE AH? NVM, ALL DOWN! DOWN! DOWN! DOWN! DOWN!

*everyone lan lan, did push-ups

NEVER MIND, ALL DON'T WANT SHOUT OUT TIMINGS RIGHT? START FROM ZERO! DOWN! DOWN!

*more lan lan, re-do again.

FUCKING HELL, CANNOT DO TOGETHER IS IT? WHOLE LOT CRUNCHES POSITIONS, CHANGE! *mutters cheebye*

*changes to crunches

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS! SLOPPY MOVEMENT! YOU ALL DON'T FUCKING MOVE YOUR BUTT RIGHT? SIMPLE, WHOLE LOT PUMPING POSITIONS

*everyone changes double time

DOWN! DOWN! NEVER MIND CRUNCHES POSITION CHANGE!

by this time i can imagine the sergeant's face, damn pissed off and angry LOL. its normal la, they just fuck us upside down.

man. those days in Jaguar. training with my platoon. the good people from platoon1. i miss those days already. HAHA. well, gotta move on, and learn more.

okay. a week has passed. so far, i'm just getting to know my bunkmates hopefully won't kena the ASLC course. lol.

7 more weeks and we'll be through!

tml i'm booking in.

to a new camp. its weird cuz i've enjoyed 10 days of utmost freedom, wearing whatever i want, going wherever i want, waking up whenever i want, doing whatever i want.

and the hot shower! one of the must-have household appliance omg that i'm gonna miss.

what have i done during the last 10 days. hmm. i've hung out with my mom and sis. i bought a new polo tee from river island. i went to sentosa. twice. yes thats pretty stupid don't ask me why. i went to visit my little cousin who just came back from hongkong. i went to give thanks at a temple.

most importantly. i slept alot. haha.

yup, 10 days of freedom. its all we've got. its not much, but we cannot ask for more. screwed thing is, we're just getting used to our freedom then we've to report to our new unit again. haha.

well its gonna be trainings after trainings now, only more intensive and our commanders are not like the ones in Tekong.

yes the blog post is getting boring. oh how my life is turning boring too. gahhh.

i'm posted to SISPEC. school of infantry specialist.

or rather, suffer in silence plus extra confinement?

well. its gonna be 8 weeks in camp now...

BUT LUCKILY ITS DAMN NEAR MY HOUSE. no more 2,3 hours of travelling like my BMT days. all the way from the west to the east.

haha my buddy, who lives in chai chee, kena OCS which is officer cadet school, has to travel all the way to the west. HA.

WHO GETS THE LAST LAUGH NOW. sucker. ahahahaaha.

oh well, army is starting for me all over again. after 8 days of rest. have to report back to the new camp this monday. wonder how SISPEC life is gonna be like. not easy. and have to make new frens, train with them, stuffs like that.

least i'm not a recruit now =D

erm, yeah so its been about 15 years in the making of their new album Chinese Democracy. what's so good about it? no doubt i'm quite a fan of them (them refers to when Axl Izzy Slash Duff Steven were still in the fucking band) but now only Axl is left in the band. rofl man, i actually start listening to them when they broke up, i'm ashamed.

so click on the banner above to listen to their songs online! its still good. but i still like the old one haha.

this dude cracked me up man.

he wasn't that bad in this video though.. BUT his turbo apparently kicks in at around 2:40... just like how you revv your Honda Civic and at like 5,500 rpm you feel a SURGE and the car just rockets forward. 2:40 is GODLIKE.

this shit lagi funny:

wow look at the time now. its 12.52 on my clock. at this time i'll be going for lunch at the cookhouse with my buddies.. haha. yes, suddenly i'm back in civilian life, no more regimental stuffs and marching. though it feels awesome i still feel abit sad as those days are all over. days of being a recruit with everyone. pretty soon its phase 2 of national service when i report to my new unit. haha.

please don't throw me into Guards dear CMPB officers. =/

POP.......... LO!

BMTC School 1
Jaguar Company 04/08
Platoon 1

haha, so its all over now.

at least, for the next 9 days. heh.

I'VE PASSED OUT FROM BASIC MILITARY TRAINING CENTRE!

no doubt, everyone was in high spirits that day. even though our field pack was weighing like a ton and the sun was pretty unfriendly towards us, most of us endured through the parade.

before our passing out parade we had our 24km route march. it is a MUST for everyone to complete the 24km route march as part of our graduating parade.

life's a bitch you know. cuz we booked in on monday night, then tuesday morning we woke up, prepare this and that, clean our bunk, clean everywhere, so that when the new enlistees come they'll have a NICE AND CLEAN bunk to sleep in. so much so that we only took a short nap in the afternoon and after dinner. about 2hours in all?

before we know it, tuesday night arrived. 10 50pm, or 2250.

we set off for our 24km route march. with almost everything in our field pack. cuz we still have to bring in some stuffs when we booked in, hence our field pack weighs even more heavier than before.

how far is 24km? hmm. i'm not very sure, but maybe its the distance you walk along east coast park. from one end to the other end. and thats only 12km. so, you'll have to walk 2 times!

fun right?

so we all marched overnight, only reaching back our camp at around daylight. its so good to see the sun and light. the whole night 80% of the time we were marching blindly in the dark. the moonlight was there, but not very strong as it was cloudy.

SO. WE MADE IT. JAGUAR COMPANY PLATOON 1 MADE IT.

hahhahahahahhaaha.

these 13 weeks of my life have been, well, good. not exactly wonderful nor terrible. i have wonderful section mates. even though we've known one another for only 13 weeks, i must say we bond together real well. throughout each training we endured together, throughout every punishment we ride it out together. our platoon didn't fare that bad also.

from Jaguar Company, Platoon 1, Section 3, 04/08, the good people:

Bed 1: Me.
Bed 2: Jitinder Singh.

my buddy. bed buddy, toilet buddy, shower buddy, actually almost anything/everything buddy. i'm such an asshole for always making racist jokes and comments about you (everyone else does the same too HAHAHAH!) but this Singh here, he's DA MAN. don't worry, he'll retort with a FUCK YOU LAH whenever you say something racist.

Bed 3: Gifford Yeo (always the last to fall in from our section!!!)

Bed 4: Joel Lim (lol everytime after draw arms like to play CS in our bunk)

Bed 5: Andy Lim (2nd FALL OUT BOY lmao. Yue Aida fan!)

Bed 6: Andy Low (likes to Save the Earth by smoking in toilets to get rid of the shit smell)

Bed 7: Mok Qi Jun (always grabbing people's asses)

Bed 8: Lam Wei Cong (shower king. mention shower, and he'll made a mad dash for the toilet)

Bed 9: Denny Yak (hehe traitor of Jaguar LMAO)

Bed 10: Darren Teo (stop playing with your DS and watch more porn!)

Bed 11: CJ Tan (his magical sponges and clothes makes area cleaning easier)

Bed 12: Kenny Tung (aiseh, my other buddy that does as much cock-talking as Jit ahhahaah)

over the past 13 weeks or so i've learn alot alot of stuffs. other than military skills, of course. no doubt we'll learn to treasure our civilian life from now on, as during our stay-in there were many things we cannot do, and deprived of. simple example: we do not have access to computers there.

computers have became such a integral part of my life that without computers... it just seem weird. and many minor stuffs like, chargers for PSP and phones, television, radio (luckily my fren brought in battery-operated ones), hot showers. stuffs like that.

things aside, i also saw the ugly side of some people in the world. that don't bother to help other people when they need help. some people can't be bothered with anything either. they just wanna protect their asses, and don't really give two-fucks about whether you're dead or not. but thankfully most people i met and know inside there are not that way..

so its true you see alot and learn alot in army. initially i wasn't very happy with army, although i don't have a choice, but then as time goes by, as we got to know one another more, its not that hard to go by.

and at the end of these 13 weeks, i've lost nothing. but gained plentiful of stuffs. friendship. PR skills. leadership skills (aiya, its true you'll learn abit here and there!). better stamina. better endurance. more muscles (no, i don't look muscular now.). and of course... many many, tons of army stories and lame stuffs.

very soon, i'm about to post to another unit to start the next phase of my NS life. BMTC has been very kind to me, Jaguar company has been very kind to me. its a very good company. the commanders (or at least the bulk of them) seriously are very good.

i'll miss BMTC. LOL.

no, i do not miss the pumpings and punishments i've gained there (especially in field camp.).

let's see. some of the major events...

Field camp. worst 6 days of my life ever.
SIT Test. rather fun.
Live Range. where you take a live round, a rifle, and start firing away.
Grenade Course. need i say more?

still, there're others but i'm not gonna say. the memories will stay with me. all the good people!

once again....
