POP.......... LO!

BMTC School 1
Jaguar Company 04/08
Platoon 1

haha, so its all over now.

at least, for the next 9 days. heh.

I'VE PASSED OUT FROM BASIC MILITARY TRAINING CENTRE!

no doubt, everyone was in high spirits that day. even though our field pack was weighing like a ton and the sun was pretty unfriendly towards us, most of us endured through the parade.

before our passing out parade we had our 24km route march. it is a MUST for everyone to complete the 24km route march as part of our graduating parade.

life's a bitch you know. cuz we booked in on monday night, then tuesday morning we woke up, prepare this and that, clean our bunk, clean everywhere, so that when the new enlistees come they'll have a NICE AND CLEAN bunk to sleep in. so much so that we only took a short nap in the afternoon and after dinner. about 2hours in all?

before we know it, tuesday night arrived. 10 50pm, or 2250.

we set off for our 24km route march. with almost everything in our field pack. cuz we still have to bring in some stuffs when we booked in, hence our field pack weighs even more heavier than before.

how far is 24km? hmm. i'm not very sure, but maybe its the distance you walk along east coast park. from one end to the other end. and thats only 12km. so, you'll have to walk 2 times!

fun right?

so we all marched overnight, only reaching back our camp at around daylight. its so good to see the sun and light. the whole night 80% of the time we were marching blindly in the dark. the moonlight was there, but not very strong as it was cloudy.

SO. WE MADE IT. JAGUAR COMPANY PLATOON 1 MADE IT.

hahhahahahahhaaha.

these 13 weeks of my life have been, well, good. not exactly wonderful nor terrible. i have wonderful section mates. even though we've known one another for only 13 weeks, i must say we bond together real well. throughout each training we endured together, throughout every punishment we ride it out together. our platoon didn't fare that bad also.

from Jaguar Company, Platoon 1, Section 3, 04/08, the good people:

Bed 1: Me.
Bed 2: Jitinder Singh.

my buddy. bed buddy, toilet buddy, shower buddy, actually almost anything/everything buddy. i'm such an asshole for always making racist jokes and comments about you (everyone else does the same too HAHAHAH!) but this Singh here, he's DA MAN. don't worry, he'll retort with a FUCK YOU LAH whenever you say something racist.

Bed 3: Gifford Yeo (always the last to fall in from our section!!!)

Bed 4: Joel Lim (lol everytime after draw arms like to play CS in our bunk)

Bed 5: Andy Lim (2nd FALL OUT BOY lmao. Yue Aida fan!)

Bed 6: Andy Low (likes to Save the Earth by smoking in toilets to get rid of the shit smell)

Bed 7: Mok Qi Jun (always grabbing people's asses)

Bed 8: Lam Wei Cong (shower king. mention shower, and he'll made a mad dash for the toilet)

Bed 9: Denny Yak (hehe traitor of Jaguar LMAO)

Bed 10: Darren Teo (stop playing with your DS and watch more porn!)

Bed 11: CJ Tan (his magical sponges and clothes makes area cleaning easier)

Bed 12: Kenny Tung (aiseh, my other buddy that does as much cock-talking as Jit ahhahaah)

over the past 13 weeks or so i've learn alot alot of stuffs. other than military skills, of course. no doubt we'll learn to treasure our civilian life from now on, as during our stay-in there were many things we cannot do, and deprived of. simple example: we do not have access to computers there.

computers have became such a integral part of my life that without computers... it just seem weird. and many minor stuffs like, chargers for PSP and phones, television, radio (luckily my fren brought in battery-operated ones), hot showers. stuffs like that.

things aside, i also saw the ugly side of some people in the world. that don't bother to help other people when they need help. some people can't be bothered with anything either. they just wanna protect their asses, and don't really give two-fucks about whether you're dead or not. but thankfully most people i met and know inside there are not that way..

so its true you see alot and learn alot in army. initially i wasn't very happy with army, although i don't have a choice, but then as time goes by, as we got to know one another more, its not that hard to go by.

and at the end of these 13 weeks, i've lost nothing. but gained plentiful of stuffs. friendship. PR skills. leadership skills (aiya, its true you'll learn abit here and there!). better stamina. better endurance. more muscles (no, i don't look muscular now.). and of course... many many, tons of army stories and lame stuffs.

very soon, i'm about to post to another unit to start the next phase of my NS life. BMTC has been very kind to me, Jaguar company has been very kind to me. its a very good company. the commanders (or at least the bulk of them) seriously are very good.

i'll miss BMTC. LOL.

no, i do not miss the pumpings and punishments i've gained there (especially in field camp.).

let's see. some of the major events...

Field camp. worst 6 days of my life ever.
SIT Test. rather fun.
Live Range. where you take a live round, a rifle, and start firing away.
Grenade Course. need i say more?

still, there're others but i'm not gonna say. the memories will stay with me. all the good people!

once again....
