hmm.

today is beeping's birthday! hahaha. happy birthday chua beeping!

so last night, we went out to eat. its a restaurant called Brussels or something. located near Robertson's Quay. i think.

but there is like, an angmoh heaven la. first time i see so many angmoh gather together.

or maybe its just me... stuck at Tekong chalet for too long, become fucking sua ku liao. =((

the food there was quite awesome. erm, so there was beeping, of course, soe, hteinlin and kush. kush came to pick me up and drive there, as the other 3 were there already.

hteinlin rode his bike there. i got the chance to pillion ride his bike! my first time sitting on a bike. honestly it was a little scary but not bad. especially when the cold wind hits across your face your hair kinda stands.

nope, i didn't pee nor crapped in my pants either =D

as i was saying, we were eating at Brussels, and their mussels (i think its spelled like that) are pretty good. beeping and soe ordered some chicken thigh main course, not bad. kush and hteinlin had fish n chips.

so... me bring curious. went to order some Fillet Americain (i think its spelled like that...?) which is some beef stuffs. well, could be some beef main course. the waiter told me its something like raw beef so i went ahead with the order.

when my meal came... i tot it came straight out from a can of Cesar. you know, that small can of dog food with a picture of a cute white dog on it?

yeah. that one. my raw beef looks like dog food served with lettuce and potato wedges.

LOL. its not bad...... considering they mixed it with some MY-YOUR-NIECE sauce (miniwong taught me how to spell it like that! lol) and bits of colesaw in it.

so... yeah. there was my dinner. sad. a can of Cesar.

heh...

after that we went to catch Max Payne at The Cathy... basically the movie was DISAPPOINTING man. considering its from a game. plot was abit draggy here and there.

wanted to watch Body Of Lies but its coming out on 20th NOV -_-

anyway, soe bought beeping a Wii for her birthday! omg man hahhaaha not bad sia. Wii. damn!

after the movie we had supper at bukit timah, and went home to sleep.

one thing i realised is that, everytime i booked out, first thing i would do is rush to the toilet and.............................

SHIT.

wa, the feeling of shitting in your own toilet, in your own comfort is so damn... priceless.

so all you people out there. don't take shitting in your house's toilet for granted. its a PRIVILEGE.
well well well..

next week's my field camp.

6 days in the open jungle.

how nice.

the week where my commanders will literally yell and fuck us up.

can't wait for it.

=(

too tired to blog now though. nights.

time really flies man.

its been 4 weeks since i've enlisted. 4 long weeks. 4 weeks of physical training.

and of course, 4 weeks of punishments from my commanders. haha!

compared to the other platoons in my company, i must say mine is the most..... relaxed one. HAHHAHHA. all my sergeants treat us very well. but that is to be over soon, as military training is coming up, and the angels inside them are disappearing. =(

next week is the 5th one. i'm left with... around 9 weeks to go.

of course, what is army without all the jungles? haha. next next week i'll be going in, finally. getting close to mother nature! and no doubt, no bathing for a LONG LONG time.

correct what! jungle where got bathroom for you to bathe? hahhaha.

i can't say much here anyway. ah well... army life. getting quite used to it.

4 weeks together with my section mates. we feel almost like we've been training together for like 4 months hahaha.

can't imagine only 2-3 months ago i was still working at PwC. wearing formal, civilian clothes.

leading a normal civilian life.

having a normal civilian haircut.

eating normal civilian food.

holding a normal civilian IC.

taking normal civilian pubic transport.

life changes, and there is so much i can learn from all these.

anyway, my com died on me yesterday. my power supply, apparently, cocked up on me. i can't boot up my computer at all. guess its time to buy a new one.

wanted to make myself a new com but i don't have enough time nor cash.

a recruit's pay is really pathetic. OH, and miniwong has enlisted! HHAHAHAH. that poor ass. in my school somemore! guess will see him in the cookhouse. hahha.

can't think of any shit that i can blog now. maybe will blog about my jungle experience. LMAO.

the sky looks dark. all the dark clouds loom. pretty soon you see everyone clearing off the streets and the sun is blocked by the low clouds.

you carry your field pack. heavy, but still comfy. dragging your boots, which you're not supposed to, you walk to the ferry terminal. along with all your buddies. no one speaks or said anything, and all with the same solemn expression. boarding the ferry, you sit down beside your buddy, and closed your eyes. took a short nap. glance up occasionally to check your bearing, and pretty soon you see the dreaded island.

that's book in day.

you carry your field pack, and god, it feels so fucking light. together with your buddies, all of you run towards the ferry along the pier, shouting and singing book-out songs. though tired out from the morning's training, no one showed any signs of slowing down. removing your jockey cap, you hurried onto the ferry and find a sing, plonk your ass down, and start to call/sms people. everyone is smiling.

that's book out day.

this sucks man.

i'll be booking out late next saturday, so i won't be able to make it for my cousin's wedding dinner.

and i've got another cousin whose wedding is in december. on a sunday evening.

WA LAU.

so rare got 2 wedding dinners in a year.

SO SUAY I HAVE TO DO NATIONAL SERVICE.

and book out late.............

have to book in later though. sigh.

the start of week 4 soon. physical training will soon be over, and more emphasis on military training.

well, its good, i mean, we're soldiers so we gotta learn how to use our guns right? haha. anyway physical training will always be part of the training there.

see you guys soon. =)
well.

another weekend. another book-out day.

tml, or rather the coming day, will be the book-in day.

not bad lah, can get to book out on friday evening, then sunday evening book back in again.

things are gonna change next week though, cuz my book out day is falling on a saturday afternoon WHICH SUCKS, and probably my book-in would be sunday evening.

sigh.

life in the shoes of a NSF. national serviceman full-time.

this is my 3rd week now. i have 10 more weeks to go. haha. roughly 10. so far, what i've done in camp is CONFIDENTIAL. lol. secret seh... classified information! hahaa. bullshit la.

all the while in camp, we've been doing physical training mostly. even though we've received our rifles (we are soldiers, of course we need them!), but we're not going into details like how to strip them, and fire them. mainly these few weeks we're having physical training.

not bad lah.

and true enough.. after our 2 weeks confinement, all the devil's horns in our commanders head came out.

late for a few seconds... KNOCK IT DOWN.

forgot to bring this down... KNOCK IT DOWN.

not standing still in senandiri (dunno how to spell) position... KNOCK IT DOWN.

and of course, not forgetting their favourite activity before meals.. pullups before every meal!

if cannot do... KNOCK IT DOWN.

FYI, knock it down means going into push-up positions and staying there. until your commander gives the go signal. so basically it means, going into the position, then asking for permission to carry on, then one timer will count, and after everyone finishes, you ask permission to recover.

fun? FUN, OF COURSE. everyone do tgt. its not that bad la.

won't go into details of other stuffs in camp. fearing for my life. in case SAF thinks i'm posing a threat by posting the details of my training here. and decides to put a bullet to my head.

overall, best thing is just to listen to what they say, and try to do. even if you can't due to circumstances, just pretend to put in effort, or at least show the effort or have a sense of urgency.

oh well. life in there isn't that bad. what brings you down makes you stronger ma. all the physical stuffs... help train up my body.

other that that, my buddies all inside, we all can click and get along. so there's no like shunning anyone.

hmm. sometimes at night, i still think of her. i have no idea why.

maybe i should get some sleep now.

can't wait for POP. =)
