the sky looks dark. all the dark clouds loom. pretty soon you see everyone clearing off the streets and the sun is blocked by the low clouds.
you carry your field pack. heavy, but still comfy. dragging your boots, which you're not supposed to, you walk to the ferry terminal. along with all your buddies. no one speaks or said anything, and all with the same solemn expression. boarding the ferry, you sit down beside your buddy, and closed your eyes. took a short nap. glance up occasionally to check your bearing, and pretty soon you see the dreaded island.
that's book in day.
you carry your field pack, and god, it feels so fucking light. together with your buddies, all of you run towards the ferry along the pier, shouting and singing book-out songs. though tired out from the morning's training, no one showed any signs of slowing down. removing your jockey cap, you hurried onto the ferry and find a sing, plonk your ass down, and start to call/sms people. everyone is smiling.
that's book out day.
